McPhee Andrewartha 360º Appraisal is a tool, which measures perceptions of the leadership and the management skills of executives, or their achievement of key objectives. It is customised to your organisation, to match your set of management and leadership qualities or objectives.

The report is most effectively utilised with a face-to-face debriefing session with the organisational psychologist.

What is 360° appraisal?

McPhee Andrewartha 360º Appraisal is a multi-source feedback tool, which is used for gathering evaluations of executive skills (or progress against objectives) from a sample of work associates including peers, direct reports, the supervisor/manager and internal/external customers; each executive also completes a self-assessment.

We see appraisal as a process, carried out annually with a thread that carries through assesments to subsequent years, enabling you to see the development in your management team.

How many people are involved?

This will depend on the number of participating executives. Each executive will need to nominate between 3 and 6 peers, reports and customers. Each executive will also self-assess and will be rated by their manager. The report for each executive will therefore be based on feedback from between 11 and 20 people.

How much work is involved as a rater?

The survey is quick to complete. It is possible to complete the rating in 10-20 minutes. To do so raters will need to go to http://www.mcpheeandrewartha.com.au and enter the 360º Appraisal page.

McPhee Andrewartha 360º Appraisal Steps

1. A proofing questionnaire is compiled from the Executive Qualities Bank of qualities, MBO Objectives and related statements.

2. Members of the Executive Team rank the statements for each quality/objective in order of importance in their organisation.

3. These rankings are analysed by McPhee Andrewartha consultants to produce a customised McPhee Andrewartha 360º Appraisal system.

4. Members of the Executive Team nominate a selection of peers, reports and customers as raters.

5. Selected employees are given written instruction on what they are being asked to do and how to rate the executive.

6. The McPhee Andrewartha 360º Appraisal survey is completed confidentially on the Internet, at the McPhee Andrewartha secure website.

7. Data from raters is used to generate a concise tabular report.

8. A McPhee Andrewartha consultant conducts a debriefing session with each member of the Executive Team.

9. A McPhee Andrewartha Director will meet with the CEO to discuss overall Management Team results and plan any necessary team development.
